Wine valley of Paarl
DAY 1: PAARL
Depart from Cape Town travelling along the N1 in a northerly direction towards the beautiful wine valley of Paarl. This journey should take you approximately one hour. After you have checked into your accommodation, take a guided wine tour to the some of the regions finest wine estates and enjoy a tasting.

DAY 2: OUDTSHOORN
Continue your journey along the famous R62 and enjoy lunch in Montagu, capital of the Langeberg Valley, founded in 1851. Here you will have your first taste of the semi-desert landscape of the Little Karoo. You will be welcomed at your accommodation establishment in Oudtshoorn the “Ostrich Capital” of South Africa. The town of Oudtshoorn is surrounded by the majestic Outeniqua Mountains in the South and the mighty Swartberg in the North.
Cango Caves
DAY 3: OUDTSHOORN
After your breakfast, visit the Safari Ostrich Farm where you will lean about these large flightless birds and their behaviour. In the afternoon visit the renowned Cango Caves, regarded as one of South Africa’s greatest natural wonders. Although the extensive system of tunnels and chambers go on for over four kilometers, about a quarter of this is open to visitors, who can view the caves on guided tours. The caves contain spectacular halls and grand limestone formations as well as some rather small passages on the Adventure Tour.
Knysna
DAY 4: KNYSNA
Experience the Outeniqua Pass as you make your way to George on your way to the town of Knysna, known for its exquisite beauty, with landscapes marrying the oceans, mountains and valleys, which are covered in Fynbos. Knysna nestles around a lagoon and estuary, which provides an ideal habitat for the cultivation of oysters. Take a ferry from the Knysna Waterfront on a unique eco-experience along the lagoon and estuary, towards the western side of the Knysna Heads, where the privately owned Featherbed Nature Reserve is located. Drive through to Plettenberg Bay, where you will be spending the night.

DAY 5: PLETTENBERG BAY
An exciting morning game drive at Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve awaits you, when you can experience sightings of Giraffe, Rhino, Wildebeest, Zebra, various antelope, Hippos, Lions and diverse populations of bird life. Spend a leisurely and fascinating afternoon at Monkeyland approximately 20 km outside Plettenberg Bay, where you will have the privilege to walk through a 12 ha indigenous forest and experience numerous species of monkeys. “Birds of Eden”, one of the biggest aviaries in the world; as the nets cover the entire forest, is also a must to visit.

DAY 6: SWELLENDAM
Before departing along the N2 towards Swellendam, spoil yourself with a hike along Robberg Peninsula or stroll along one of the beaches. If you are lucky enough you may even pick up one of the “Pansy” shells. Stay the night in Swellendam, a small historical town established in 1745 at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains. Visit its historical and cultural Drostdy Museum, which served as seat of the Magistrate for 100 years until 1846.

DAY 7: HERMANUS
In the morning, head towards Hermanus, one of the Cape’s most popular holiday destinations and known for the best land based whale viewing in the country (July-November). Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure by relaxing on the white beaches, wander around town, visit the Old Harbour or walk along the footpaths hugging the coast with some spectacular viewing points for spotting the Southern Right Whales. Lunch at one of the popular restaurants located in the Hemel-en-Aarde Wine Valley on one of the many well known Wine Estates.

DAY 8: RETURN TO CAPE TOWN
Before departing for Cape Town, visit the Hermanus Harbour for an eco-experience boat trip (July-November) where you will be able to view aquatic mammals such as whales and dolphins.
