Activities

Partake in saltwater soaked adventure sports, from surfing, swimming, diving, windsurfing and kayaking to kite surfing. Indulge in long beach walks on beautiful, endless, untouched sandy white beaches. Visit the local fishermen returning with their early morning catch on the beach. Savour the seafood delicacies fresh from the West Coast, by preparing your own meal or visit one of the rustic local restaurants. Whale and Dolphins can be spotted in the bay from July – December. For those chilly winter nights sip a glass of red wine alongside a warm cosy fire as the velvet darkness sets in, listening to the stormy ocean waves crash on the shore.

The world famous flower season is from August to October and this is the most scenic time of year as wild flowers bloom in their magnificence, transforming the landscape into a breathtaking carpet of floral colours.  The area boasts 1200 species of indigenous plants.

Visit the nearby Cape Columbine Nature Reserve, situated 5 km from Paternoster. The light house at Titiesbaai in the Cape Columbine Reserve is one of the country’s last manned lighthouses and worth a visit. The West CoastFossilPark is a short drive away and will provide you with a unique on-site fossil experience.
