A mere two hour drive from the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg city life, lies a place of breathtaking beauty and serenity; Bakubung Bush Lodge. Concealed in the rich expanses of the malaria-free PilanesbergNational Park, Bakubung, or the “Place of the Hippo”, has 75 luxury rooms in a beautifully tranquil setting. Here, you can enjoy a number of activities including bush walks, boma braais, “Big Five” game viewing and for the children, there’s even an adventure playground.

Accommodation

Bakubung offers beautifully appointed air-conditioned, thatched roof studio en suite rooms, with either two double beds or one king size bed. All rooms are decorated in an African theme with all the modern conveniences.

There are 66 chalets, beautifully situated in a horse shoe around the Hippo Pool, with two bedrooms (one twin, one double), two bathrooms, a separate lounge/dining area and full kitchen facilities. There is also a sleeper couch in the lounge. These are perfect for larger families who want to experience the wild beauty of African in comfort and style.

All hotel rooms have doors leading onto either a balcony or a patio, and have panoramic views of the Park and the Hippo Pool.
