Situated, 25 km's outside Hoedspruit in the northern Drakensberg Mountains and nestled on the
foothills of the Mariepskop Mountains, Amafu Forest Lodge is within a short driving range of many of the area’s must-see such as the Kruger National Park and the Blyde River Canyon.
Each
cottage at Amafu Forest Lodge is named after various “Cycad” species, age-old plants show-cased in landscaped rock gardens.
Guests can enjoy a delicious meal at the restaurant “Rainforest Café”,
or a drink at the al-fresco bar, or socialize around the swimming pool or at
the boma.
Accommodations
The lodge comprises of five spacious, private units and two luxurious tented
camps.
There are three tents: two alluring Luxury Tents named after African
cycad species, Ituri 1 and Ituri 2, which offer a splashpool and a braai area,
and the Kisambo Tent which has fully-equipped kitchen as well as a large
bedroom.
There are also five cottages: a one-bedroom cabin with an open-plan
kitchen called Pauci Cottage, a two-bedroom with a well-appointed bathroom unit
called Laevi Cottage, a double story unit with a loft, a lounge, two bedrooms,
and a fully-equipped kitchen called Cerinus Cottage, a renovated old
two-bedroom farm house called Nubi Cottage, and finally an intimate honeymoon
cottage called Cupidus Cottage.
