Kruger Park & Northern Game Reserves

Kruger National Park was established in 1898 for the protection of Lowveld wildlife and covers 20,000 square kilometres. All of the Big Five (lion, the African elephant, the Cape Buffalo, the leopard and the rhinoceros) game animals can be found at Kruger National Park, which has more species of mammals than any other African Game Reserve (at 147 species). The climate of the Kruger National Park and Lowveld is subtropical. The dry winter season is a great time to visit this region as the days are milder. Viewing wildlife is more rewarding as the vegetation is more sparse and animals are drawn to the waterholes to drink every morning and evening.
